Secondary Shredders

Drive
Diesel hydraulic drive with Caterpillar-engines or alternatively with electric hydraulic drive.

Operating
via control box and upstream plant. The secondary shredder has a direct connection to the primary shredder, therefore a priority switch off in case of interference is possible.

Permanent over-belt magnet
The magnet is installed in-line over the discharge point of the output belt. Metal parts are discharged in moving direction to achieve the best possible metal separation. The measurement of the magnet depends on application  and magnet size.

Options

  • different electric or permanent magnets

Automatic metal separation
The automatic metal separation consists of a metal detector and a discharge flap. It recognizes ferrous and non-ferrous metal parts in the material. The metal detector is adjustable to variable sensitivity. It is positioned at the feeding belt and controls a discharge flap, which is situated at the end of the belt or before the secondary shredder.

Rotor and screen operation
The rotor diameter is about 700 mm or 1.000 mm according to the machine type. The rotor’s working width and the number of fixed knives depend also on the machine type. The screen basket is hydraulically hinged and equipped with overload protection. The mesh sizes of the screen basket can be chosen according to the required end product size.

Material discharge
The discharge belt is approx. 1.000 mm in width and has a discharge height of approx. 3.400 mm – 4.300 mm. A magnetic roller is build-in at the end of the belt to separate the uncovered small metal parts such as nails, screws etc. from the final material.

Options

  • belt cover
  • hydraulically adjustable belt height

Additional equipment

  • water sprinkling system
  • noise absorbing package

Variation - HAMMERMILL
Usually  we use a rotor with fixed knives for our Secondary Shredder series. However, it is possible to choose the shredding unit as a HAMMERMILL with swinging hammers.

  • Advantages for a rotor with fixed knives
very high performance, extremely low energy consumption, quick and easy maintenance of the tools, low wear costs, equal end product, reduced sawdust
  • Advantages for the HAMMERMILL with swinging hammers
longer service intervals, insensitive to foreign bodies, massive hammers
